4th Boudoir Photo Session
Photo Shoot
This was my fourth photo shoot with Jodie and her father Mike, and I think the looks and pictures have improved each year. I had been planning the outfits for this year's shoot for some considerable time and was a little concerned about the secretary look. I then discussed it with both Jodie and Nas and they both told me to go for it.
I arrived at Jodie’s early on Saturday morning, not realising that I would be going dressed to the photo studio. We planned how many pictures would be taken in each outfit, then Jodie started on my make up, after which we decided on what was the most casual of my outfits to drive to the studio in. After deciding against the red underwear and the ball gown, we opted for the jeans and a casual top. The drive to the studio was straightforward and we got there in about 15mins, but then had to wait a few minutes because the studio was in use.
Once inside it was a quick change into the first outfit whilst Jodie and Mike sorted out the studio backdrop. We then had a few test shots, in which I came out a bit too blue, before we were ready to go. The next few hours flew past and it was a blur between being told to relax and smile while the pictures were taken (Jodie developed a technique of making me laugh, which I can't reveal fully. All I can say is, I can never see my friend Jaynie in the same light again). I then went into the changing room to change outfits, followed by Jodie who came in to adjust my hair and jewellery. We had worked out an order in which to do the pictures, and I think by the time we got halfway through I was beginning to relax. The last outfit I had thought about for some time, and was a bit unsure, but Jodie assured me it would be okay, so we went for it: Ms Smith the stripping secretary, and I think results were great.
All too soon the day came to an end, and it was time to pack everything up for another year. As we were driving home, Jodie realised how late it was, and in order for her to save time prior to going out in the evening we went back to her house, where I was able to lapse into male mode and watch the cricket and rugby, whilst Jodie whipped up a culinary feast. I have been sworn to total secrecy as to the exact recipe, but it involves a can of Mr Heinz’s finest and some heated bread related products.
Jodie then left me to the cricket while she got ready for her night out. I explained to Spike the complex LBW and Duckworth-Lewis rules, which I’m sure he fully understood. Eventually I was back at the Boudoir ready to get changed by about 6.30. After a quick change and coffee it was back home and a long wait until Tuesday before I saw the results.
I have to thank both Jodie and Mike for putting up with me again and I will learn to relax and smile at some point I promise. I also need to thank the following (it’s like an Oscar acceptance speech): Nas, well for being Nas, and helping choose the outfits and the nails, Alison for giving me one of her business suits, Tina and her mum for the glasses, Gemma at the Blue Room for letting me try on all those fab clothes and finally Meredith for being my Brooklyn Girl.
Any suggestions for next year's shoot greatly accepted.
